Auto GP has been announcing many 2013 drivers lately but new additions are not expected from that compartment only. The championship, managed by Enzo Coloni, is welcoming the brand-new Ibiza Racing Team. Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of the successful F.3000 team Barone Rampante, joined forced with longtime team owner Ferdinando Ravarotto and Modesto Benegiamo, who served as a Director Of Sport for many teams over the last 20 years in both open and closed-wheel competition.
The newly-formed squad is set to field two cars in 2013 and the driver line-up will be announced shortly, as well as its whole structure. The Italian-based operation hopes for a successful maiden season in one of the most competitive championships in European Racing.
Enzo Coloni: I'm glad to announce the arrival of a new team in the Auto GP paddock for 2013. In addition to being one high-profile businessman, Giuseppe Cipriani showed to have great driving skills himself and highlighted the ability of this series to promote its customers. Ravarotto and Benegiamo have been two very well-known personalities for quite some time. They will provide Ibiza Racing with the right combination in order to aim at the top end of the charts.
