Maranello go commando for Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour

with another strong partnership.Maranello Motorsport have created another reason for their Ferrari 458 GT3 to be an eye-catcher at this weekends Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, moving away from the stunning red of the prancing horse entry, with an  Australian styled camouflage livery.

The new look comes along with confirmation that the Melbourne-based outfit will not only have strength in their own garage with a star driver line-up and refreshed componentry, but the Maranello Motorsport crew will also be at work in the garage next door, assisting with the factory Ferrari 458 GT3 entry of AF Corse.

The off-season saw the crew complete a pull apart of the lap record breaking Ferrari, with fully refreshed componentry ahead of their test run at Phillip Island last week. Home-grown drivers John Bowe and Peter Edwards came out of the test with positive feedback on not only the vehicles performance but the circuits new surface, with team and drivers keen to get to the Mountain. Australian motor sport legend and long-term Maranello Motorsport driver, John Bowe, explained,

After being completely apart over the off-season, the car is feeling all new but at the same time, it felt exactly how it used to and was on song from its first laps of the test so that's a good sign for the (Liqui-Moly) Bathurst 12 Hour!

Theres such an impressive field for this years event so its going to be a big challenge for everyone involved, but we showed last year that weve got a strong team and with the time and effort thats gone in again this time around, theres a confidence of what can ultimately be achieved. The link with the AF Corse team will see Maranello Motorsport provide experienced crew and invaluable local knowledge of Mount Panorama, as the factory outfit make their debut at the world-renowned circuit.

With the vast experience of Simonsen, Bowe and Edwards, along with the addition of the accolades and proven performance of Salo on board the Australian Il Bello Rosso Ferrari 458, it provides for an even greater strength for the prancing horse this weekend as the locals accelerate the visitors learning, while gaining valuable time with their respected international counterparts.Maranello Motorsport will hit the track this weekend along with a record field of entries from around the globe for what will undoubtedly be the biggest international endurance event at Australias most challenging place that promises glory, heartbreak, and many memories that remain forever with those who take to the hallowed tarmac.

Maranello Motorsports 2013 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour campaign is proudly supported by Il Bello Rosso Baby Roma Tomatoes, IVECO Trucks, General Pants Co and GPI Corporate.
