Oliver Rowland returns to Eurocap Formula Renault 2.0 for 2013

Racing Steps Foundation driver joins Manor MP for second assault on title Racing Steps Foundation driver Oliver Rowland is to return to the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 series for 2013 for a second assault on the title. Sheffield-born Rowland (20) - who finished third in the 2012 driver standings - will race with the Anglo-Dutch Manor MP team. The team's other drivers have yet to be announced. Rowland - who is leaving the UK to live and work in Holland for the duration of the season - will join up with the Dutch squad in Westmaas on Thursday. As part of the deal negotiated by the RSF, the 2012 Eurocup race winner will be employed by the team as a junior engineer. In parallel with his engineering responsibilities, Rowland - who has just completed an intensive winter-long BRDC Superstars training programme - will work out between races with MP Motorsport's GP2 signing Daniel de Jong, who lives nearby the team HQ. Rowland will get behind the wheel of the new generation, Tatuus-built FR2.0 car for the first time at the first pre-season test at Motorland Aragon at the end of this month. Alongside opposition from his Manor MP team-mates, Rowland will also face stiff competition from fellow RSF driver and McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winner Jake Dennis. The reigning Formula Renault NEC Champion is stepping up to the Eurocup series with Fortec Motorsport, the team that engineered him to his 2012 title and the 2011 InterSteps Championship.
