BELLE Vue have swooped to sign Slovenian Grand Prix star Matej Zagar as their new No.1 for the Elite League season.Zagar last rode in the UK for Eastbourne in 2010, achieving an 8.04 average, whilst the Aces continue talks with experienced Swede Magnus Zetterstrom after Charlie Gjedde ruled himself out of their plans.Operations Director Chris Morton said: Matty is a rider we looked at in 2010 but for logistical reasons he decided that Eastbourne was a better bet for him at that time.He was on the list of options we had for this year. He is a quality rider. He is back on the Grand Prix scene this season and wanted to come back to race in the Elite League as well.

SWINDON have revealed plans for an early-season meeting against a British Lions side managed by GB boss Neil Middleditch.The meeting will be staged at the Abbey Stadium on Thursday March 21 and is expected to feature the top British riders with the exception of New Zealand GP-bound Tai Woffinden.Robins co-owner Gary Patchett said: This is a wonderful way for us to launch the season before going into the Elite League schedule.It means the likes of Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls and Danny King will be in the frame and no doubt in Middlos thoughts for this meeting.

PLYMOUTH have been handed a major sponsorship boost ahead of the 2013 Premier League season.Commercial manager Brian Cave has negotiated with St Blazey MX and Drive Revive of Seaton to become joint team sponsors for the Devils.Cave said: We are delighted to have St Blazey MX and Drive Revive on board.It is so important to generate financial backing to support the team these days and I am sure the new arrangements will be beneficial to the two new sponsors in addition to providing important assistance to the promotion.

FREDDIE Lindgren's Testimonial meeting is less than a month away - and the Swedish star has added two more top names for the event.Lindgren celebrates a decade at Wolverhampton on Sunday March 10, and has added current GP rider Krzysztof Kasprzak and 2012 Elite League-winning captain Hans Andersen to a glittering field.Lindgren said: Me and Hans rode together at Dackarna for about five years, so we know each other pretty well and hes a good guy.KK is in the same age group as me being just one year older than myself, so we have been rivals for a long time starting off in the Junior World Championships where he eventually became U21 World Champion in 2005 when I finished with the bronze medal.
