BRDC Rising Star Status For Porsche Contender Lloyd

Daniel Lloyd has received another boost ahead of the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship season after today, Friday, 15th February, being named a British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC) Rising Star.Adding yet another accolade to the many he has accrued during his successful motorsport career so far, the 20-year-old Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholar is delighted hell go into the new campaign with the prestigious BRDC Rising Star roundel adorning his Porsche 911 GT3 car.I am absolutely over the moon with becoming a BRDC Rising Star, it is something I have wanted to be ever since I won the Stars Of Tomorrow BRDC Scholarship in karting when I was 15, said the Huddersfield racer, Now I am a Rising Star Id really like to make the most of it so I can become a full member of the BRDC sometime in the near future.It is such a fantastic club to be invited to be in, arguably the most prestigious in the world, and anyone who is somebody in motorsport has been part of the BRDC. I am delighted to be part of it now as well and incredibly proud to represent the club this season.The invitation-only programme, open to aspiring professional racing drivers aged 24 and under, is one of the BRDCs flagship schemes. Young racers are scouted trackside and, if their performances merit, they are then offered the opportunity to become a Rising Star.Daniel, who remains with multiple championship-winning squad Team Parker Racing for his second season in Porsche Carrera Cup GB, heads into 2013 off the back of a notable maiden year in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship support series.The opening two rounds of the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship will be contested at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in Kent over the weekend 30th/31st March. Daniels season will conclude on 12th/13th October with a return visit to Brands Hatch, albeit on the longer Grand Prix Circuit.
