COVENTRY have named former World Champion Gary Havelock as their new Elite League team manager.Havelock recently announced his retirement from racing after a glittering career which included taking the sports top prize in 1992, and he will be going into management for the first time with the Bees.He said: Obviously I worked with Mick (Horton) before when I rode for him at Peterborough and he was promoter, and we always got on fine, so after thinking about it for a bit I decided to go for it.Mick has picked the riders, and my job is to work with those riders and get the most out of them on race-nights. We need to get a good team spirit going, and I think thats one of the main things.(SPEEDWAY 2)

LEICESTER have secured a new main team sponsorship deal with haulage firm Harry Jordan agreeing to back the Premier League club.Owner Russell Bateman has completed the deal with the club, having been introduced to speedway by his grandfather and company founder Jordan when the Lions raced at their old Blackbird Road venue.Promoter David Hemsley said: It is so important for the development of Leicester Speedway to have people like Russell on board. Without the support of our sponsors and business partners, improvements in all aspects of the club would be that much slower. Our vision is to bring Elite League speedway to Beaumont Park in the not too distant future and with our on-going plan of improving the amenities in the stadium it becomes much more achievable through the generosity of people like Russell.(SPEEDWAY 3)
