Motors TV UK adds live FIA GT Series coverage

and continues Blancpain Endurance Series deal in 2013

Motors TV UK has strengthened its status as the home of live international sportscar racing with the addition of the new FIA GT Series and the continuation of its relationship with the popular Blancpain Endurance Series.

The FIA GT championship represents a new dawn for the category with six events to be held at Nogaro, Zolder, Zandvoort, Slovakia-Ring, Navarra and a yet to be confirmed non-European venue for the season finale. Blancpain and Pirelli have been confirmed as official series partners, a further acknowledgement of the championships prestige.

Each weekend will see Motors TV viewers treated to a pair of 60-minute races featuring a stunning line-up of GT machinery that includes sportscar heavyweights Aston Martin, BMW, Lamborghini, McLaren, Audi, Ferrari and Porsche.

An equally impressive driver roster is expected with the notable addition of rally legend Sebastien Loeb who continues his expansion into circuit racing. As well as fielding a two-car team this year, the Frenchman will be sharing one of his squads McLaren MP4-12Cs with GT hot shoe Alvaro Parente.

Meanwhile the Blancpain Endurance Series returns to Motors TV for the coming season having called the channel home since its inception in 2011. Since then it has enjoyed an incredible rate of growth to become the GT championship of choice in Europe. 2013 looks set to be no different thanks to five three-hour races held at iconic circuits like Monza, Silverstone, Paul Ricard and the Nrburgring.

But the championships undoubted highlight remains the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium, which is set to receive extensive live coverage on the High Speed Television Channel.

Stphane Ratel, SRO Motorsports Group CEO and Chairman: We are delighted that Motors TV will continue to cover both the new-look FIA GT Series and the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2013. The accessible and widespread coverage of the Motors TV channel perfectly encapsulates the passion and enthusiasm that GT racing attracts. This season will be among the best ever for fans because of the variety of the GT brands and the multi-class format that will feature in both series. The 2013 FIA GT Series and Blancpain Endurance Series will definitely see the best GT racing on the planet in 2013 and we aim to get as many fans as possible to see the action.

Frederic Viger, Motors TV Head of Programming and Acquisitions: GT and sportscar racing have been a major part of Motors TVs programming since the channels earliest days so were understandably very proud to continue and even further extend our partnership with SRO. The Blancpain Endurance Series is much loved by our viewers and Im very confident the FIA GT Series will become a firm favourite, especially as the weekends two races will be a shorter sprint format better suited to casual fans.

The opening round of this years FIA GT Series comes live from Nogaro in France over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend of March 31/April 1. The 2013 Blancpain Endurance Series kicks off at Monza two weeks later on April 13/14.
