Podium for gonda and Drivex in Jerez F3 Open Winter Series

Second Winter Series race at Circuito de Jerez couldnt have a better end for Drivex and its driver, Richard Gonda, after claiming their first podium together this season. The Slovakian driver was forced to retire on the formation lap at Paul Ricard, but this weekend he was aiming to overcome these problems. After an intensive two-week period working, Gonda and Drivex achieved it.

In the morning, Gonda finished in ninth place among Copa drivers in the final free practice session, having an excellent race pace and especially with used tires. The qualifying began in a good way for Gonda, because he managed to be in P2 among Dallara F308 cars quite soon, but finally it wasnt possible to complete a perfect lap and his position on the starting grid was 7th. When the race was started, Gonda attacked to overtake as many rivals as possible. He avoided some accidents on the very first lap and, by the halfway point of the race, Slovakias driver was 10th overall. By the end the young Slovakian ace was second in the Copa classification, but another rival passed him on the last lap. Third place for him and, in addition, he climbed into top-ten. Unquestionably a brilliant result taking into account he never raced before at Circuito de Jerez and his experience in F3 is just a few days.

Richard Gonda: Im very glad that the race has brought such a good result. Before the weekend, I didnt even know the circuit, but from the very first beginning I started to like it. We made a good setup, just during the qualifying we could gain some tenths of second in some sectors of the track. At the start of the race the car was perfect, but from the mid up to the end it started to be more difficult to drive. Anyway, this was a successful weekend, we all worked hard and it finally brought this satisfaction. This way Id like to thank to the whole Drivex team.Miguel ngel de Castro: Today Richard showed his talent as a driver, facing more experienced rivals in F3. Our qualifying session wasnt that good, but in race he was faultless.
