Webster plans Porsche Carrera Cup GB campaign

Keith Webster has confirmed plans to contest the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this season with Redline Racing with the target of challenging for the Pro-Am2 title.The 46-year-old company director from Liphook in Hampshire first raced in the Carrera Cup in 2011 when he finished second in Pro-Am2. After a part-season last year, he is now planning a fuller campaign once more as well as fitting in a return to racing on two wheels.I want to have a real crack at Pro-Am2 and really enjoy the season, said Webster. I was so looking forward to getting back in the car when we went testing at Thruxton last month.Webster raced 1000cc motorbikes until 2007 and then switched to cars in 2009. He made his Carrera Cup debut in 2011 and battled against George Brewster for the Pro-Am2 title, eventually losing out by just five points after scoring five wins.However, his 2013 programme will also include a return to two-wheeled motor sport with a Superstox Kawasaki as well as competing in time trials with pedal power. Im doing 170 miles a week on the bike for training, he said. He is likely to miss the Oulton Park and Croft race weekends while taking part in a charity cycle ride in Italy. Drivers in Pro-Am2 count their best seven race weekends from 10 for the final championship positions.
