Idaq.com will expand their team for the 2013 season and will run three riders in the National Superstock 1000 class on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. They will continue to run 28-year-old Paul Curran, last season was a difficult year for Paul having started the season injured but things drastically improved by the final round at Brands Hatch.
Paul Curran - "The end of 2012 racing season and the start of the 2013 has probably been the busiest start to a year I have ever had, working alongside team principle Mark Roebuck we have been putting everything together to make this team happen. I'm sure all the hours of hard-work and phone calls etc will be well rewarded when we get to round one of the season and we can see everything there in front of our eyes that we have been working hard for over the last five months or so. Until then we have three bikes to build lots of testing to do and much more to organise.
I can't wait to get out on the Idaq Motorsport Kawasaki, the bikes are going to be three of the best prepared bikes on the grid! Also with all the development work back at back and on the dyno and in the workshop they will be competitive machines.
I just want the opportunity to applaud Mark and Sarah Roebuck for their level of commitment to the sport and the financial input, without you guys none of this would happen, this is why I'm going to make sure we have an even more enjoyable season than the last!
That's about it for now, I'd best get back to the workshop as these bikes are not going to build themselves!"
Adding to the rider list will be Peter Ward and James East, both will run under the Idaq Motorsport banner for 2013. Former Superstock Cup Champion and runner up in the Triumph Triple Challenge and Harley Davidson Championship the experienced rider from Hinckley is very excited about teaming up with Idaq.
Peter Ward - "I am really looking forward to the season ahead, Mark at Idaq and Paul at PCR Performance are putting a lot of time and effort into building the best bikes possible and I cn't wait to go and do some skids and wheelies on it now! The team is made up of a great group of friend and I believe this is really going to help us all have a great year.
I have competitive team mates and I really think that's going to help bring the best out in me. It's going to be a tough year and I am still trying to find sponsors to help pay for it all but it's all moving along nicely at the moment.
I can't wait to get testing on the Kawasaki ZX-10R when the bikes are ready, having last year out is going to prove tough to get up to speed with all the front boys but I am really up for the challenge and looking forward to getting some good results during the season."
The youngest member of the team is 23-year-old James East a former 125 and Stock 600 rider makes the big jump up to the 1000 class for the 2013 season. The likeable and talented rider is hoping for a good debut season in the National Superstock 1000 Championship.
James East - "I'm looking forward to the 2013 race season with Idaq more than any other. I'm going to have a great bunch of people around me and to work with the season and that in itself is a massive confidence booster.
The wait to get out on my Kawasaki ZX-10R is agonising but I can't wait to swing my leg over the a bike again. I've really been working hard over the winter to ensure I am fully ready for the season ahead and stepping up to the bigger machines!
I know I have to learn how to ride the bike and to understand how it works without doing anything drastic so every testing session will count at ensuring that I understand what the season holds for me. I want to be ready for the first round at Brands and I really can't wait to get back racing again, I'd like to thank Mark and all the Idaq crew for this opportunity this season."
Team Principal Mark Roebuck - "2013 is set to be a very exciting year for us. With a much bigger presence in the paddock we will again be competing in the National Superstock 1000 Championships. This year the bike of choice will be the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, a bike that has proven to be very competitive in previous years.
I am really looking forward to our third season in the paddock, the 2013 season with Paul, Pete and James riding the Idaq Motorsport bikes is going to be thrilling for me personally as we have fantastic bikes, talented riders and a great support team plus all the data we spent the last season collecting.
We will be pushing hard for some great results and we can't wait to get to the first round at Brands Hatch in April."
