Bukowski signs for Alpe Adria SBK

Poland's GRANDys duo Suzuki team will contest the full 2013 Alpe Adria International SBK series with former Polish Supersport Champion Daniel Bukowski.

The team, who dropped-out of the Polish Superbike Championship at the end of 2012, will concentrate its efforts on the eight-race series that is run in Slovakia, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic and Poland.

Bukowski, who won the Alpe Adria series in 2009, will race the new Suzuki GSX-R600 in the Supersport 600 class.

The first round of Alpe Adria will be held on April 5-7th at the Slovakiaring in Slovakia, where the team will also stage a GRANDys duo Promotion Track Day (April 3-4th) for licensed riders and also beginners who want to improve their skills.

Jacek Grandys - Suzuki GRANDys duo Team Manager:

"This year we decided to make a focus on the Alpe Adria Championship and we hope that, just as it was in the Polish Championship, that we will play a leading role. We have already won titles in this series, but this year we have an appetite for more. Alpe Adria will be in many different countries, and gives us the opportunity to race at a high level with top riders and the international promotion of our partners. Re-signing the contract with Daniel was obvious to us, because I think he is now the best Polish rider in 600 class."

Daniel Bukowski:

"I  am glad that with Suzuki GRANDys duo we will compete in the international arena. I would like to repeat my success from the 2009 season in Alpe Adria, and at the end of the season to improve fifth place in the European Championships, which I won two years in a row in Albacete. I've already forgotten about my injuries from last season and I'm ready for a new challenge."
