Round 2: McGrady Insurance Stages, 9 March

Derek McGarrity extended his championship lead with victory on the McGrady Insurance Stages Rally, his second win in as many events so far this season.

McGarrity was only ninth after the opening pair of stages as Kieron Graffin set the pace aboard his Group N Mitsubishi Evo. However over the following two tests McGarrity converted his deficit into a narrow lead that he stretched during the remainder of the event.

McGarrity carried an unassailable 20-second lead into the final couple of stages, resulting in a 16.2-second win over runner-up Jonny Leonard and Derek McGeehan in third.
