BRITISH Champion Scott Nicholls has accepted a late call-up for the Bob Kilby Memorial meeting at Swindon on Thursday.Nicholls comes in for Lakesides Davey Watt and joins an all-star field for the Robins 2013 curtain-raiser.Swindon boss Alun Rossiter said: Scotty is a great rider and very entertaining. I said to him a few weeks ago that I would like to include him in the meeting so now the opportunity has arisen its great to welcome him to Swindon. The line-up is superb and any one from a number of riders could go out and win the meeting. It's going to be a great way to start the season and the weather forecast is looking encouraging!(SPEEDWAY 2)
DUDLEY have confirmed rider-coach Jan O Pedersen has left the club after rejecting an offer to continue with the Heathens.Pedersen, the 1991 World Champion, helped inspire the former Cradley side to the top of the National League table last season, over 20-years since his full-time riding career was ended by injury.Chairman Nigel Pearson said: We offered him the same terms as last season but it appears those terms are no longer acceptable. We are not in a position to offer anyone a full-time role, no club within British Speedway employs a full-time manager or coach and we are no different.Jan O. has said he needs to find something else and we have to respect that, but as I stated recently we would love to accommodate him even if he had a full-time role elsewhere.
