Slacker Inc. Sets the Style of American Sports Car Racing at Sebring

Slacker Inc.continues its role as the outfitter of American sports car racing in 2013. The Akron, Ohio-based company confirmed the renewal of its position as the lifestyle branding service-provider to BAR1 Motorsports for the upcoming race season. BAR1 Motorsports, owned by Brian Alder and based in Plain City, Ohio, fields a two-car team in the highly competitive PC class of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrn. As it does for several championship contenders in professional auto racing, Slacker, Inc.  will clothe the drivers, team members, corporate partners and fans withBAR1 Motorsports apparel. Additionally, Slacker will supply video production services and other branding consultancy efforts to BAR1.

"This is the second year as partners with BAR1 and each year their operation gets bigger and better," said Myers. "As BAR1 developed from a virtual upstart operation to a championship contender in sports car racing they have proven to be the team to beat on any given weekend. It's rewarding to see Brian's vision come to life. We are proud to be on the 'go to list' to get things done for BAR1.

BAR1 will field two ORECA Prototype Challenge (PC) cars in the 10-race ALMS season. Chris Cumming and Kyle Marcelli will campaign the No. 8, while Tomy Drissi and Rusty Mitchell will drive the No. 7 BAR1 entry during the season. F1, Indy car and sports car veteran Stefan Johansson will drive the No. 8 as a third at Sebring while Chapman Ducote will act as the third driver in the No. 7 car.

"We are excited to have Slacker Inc. as a partner again for the 2013 season," commented Alder. "As a team owner it's important to have a partner that shares the same passion for motorsports. Slacker Inc. has consistently delivered high quality products that not only represent our series, but also represent the individual needs of our team and professional drivers. Their attention to detail is second to none." To the general public, Slacker Inc. is best known for its lifestyle branding including leading edge clothing and support products. However, within the paddocks of North American motorsports, Slacker has become a one-stop provider for teams and corporate clients pursuing the best method to support their auto racing involvement. Over its 18 years of operation, Slacker, Inc. has developed branding programs and marketing campaigns in not only the ALMS but the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, the SCCA and World Challenge among other series.

Earlier this year, Myers announced a partnership with Wayne Taylor Racing in the Daytona Prototype (DP) class of the GRAND-AM Rolex Series for 2013. The renewed partnership with BAR1, one of the longest standing relationships enjoyed by Slacker, further establishes the firm as a leader in team apparel and branding initiatives in North America. The matchless nature of Slacker's corporate offerings allows it to provide unparalleled branding direction for its clients. It is Slacker's ability to make available not only top-quality, uniquely positioned apparel to teams but also an uncontested capability to provide video services that makes the company so sought-after by race teams.

The 2013 American Le Mans Series begins March 16 with the 61st Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida.
