Italian ADM Motorsport team is off to a good start to the season with a test in Franciacorta using the car configured for the 2013 season. Matteo Cairoli is only sixteen years old and his CV shows only one race in the Formula Renault.
The one-day test was carried out on the Italian Franciacorta circuit. And Matteo showed a great performance just like during the test in November. At first, the ADM Motorsport team warmed up the car and checked that everything was ok. The guys from the team did a great and fast job, says Melchioretto, the team principal and technical director.
Afterwards, ADM Motorsport started the actual test in order to set up the car, adjust the car to the driver and harmonise the driver and the team. The work proceeded well, and after lunch Matteo completed a lap in 1:05.00 with used tyres, even though there were a lot of cars on the track, due to the fact that other teams were also preparing for the new season.
Optimization completedUsing new tyres, Cairoli completed a lap in 1:03.99, a difference of 6 tenths of a second compared to the Italian F3 cup in May 2012, with higher temperature and better track conditions. At the end of the session, Cairoli was happy. In the morning I was not able to really push because the new car is very different from the last one that I tested. However, after Renato had made some modifications it ran really well. If we had been able to make better use of the new tyres from my first lap, I could have driven real fast. The car ran perfectly but traffic slowed me down.
Wonder boy on the right trackThe next thing on the agenda is the collective test on the championship tracks, where we can surely expect great results.
ADM Motorsport plan to contest the season with a total of three drivers. Drivers still have a chance to sign up.
