The organisers of London Rally for Heroes have announced that their event is to be a contending round in the 2013 Ward Construction Association of Eastern Motor Clubs Stage Rally Championship; a move that is sure to push entries towards the maximum of just 90 cars.
Pat Ward, managing director of AEMC Stage Rally Championship sponsors Ward Construction Ltd, said: "I am very pleased that the London Rally will be included in this year's Ward Construction AEMC Stage Rally Championship. The championship has a good balance of established and new events and having such a prestigious event as the London Rally included in its first year is a real positive."
The addition of the AEMC and its inclusion was not lost on rally director Rick Smith, who told us: "With the addition now of the London Rally for Heroes into the AEMC Stage Rally Championship, it proves that our event is worthy and not only gaining momentum, but acknowledgement. We are delighted to have them on board.
London Rally for Heroes on 19/20 April will become round three of the championship, which is currently led by Tony Capon in his Rover Metro.
Entries are filling up too for the rally, with applications coming in on a near daily basis; the advice is, if you are thinking about contesting this unique event, now is the time to get an entry in.
