Samsung Smart Motorsport launches major new teamMichael Meadows and Richard Kent in two-car squadMeadows aiming at back-to-back titlesMichael Meadows will spearhead a major new force in the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup GB following the unveiling of Samsung Smart Motorsport during the championship test and media day at Silverstone (Thursday 14 March).The team behind the operation is InterGTM, representing the combined resources of GT Marques and award winning London agency Interstate. GT Marques, headed by the squads sporting director Paul Mace, has regularly competed in the Carrera Cup across the last decade.The defending Carrera Cup GB champion is the lead driver and Meadows will be joined by championship newcomer Richard Kent on the driving strength. Meadows has set himself the clear goal of retaining the overall title and says that bidding to retain the title with the new squad gives the season an added challenge. If successful, Meadows will become only the second driver to take back-to-back Carrera Cup GB titles.Without a doubt I want to win the title again, said Meadows. Its a new challenge with a new team and Im proud to be representing a major brand. The aim has to be to win the title more comprehensively than last year.Joining Meadows in the team is former single-seater racer Kent has who spent two seasons out of the sport after racing in the US in 2009 and 2010. I didnt expect to come back into something as full-on as this, said Kent. But this fantastic opportunity came about and every time I get in the car Im learning.
