Stihl is to sponsor the Mercedes-Benz team in the German Touring Car Masters (DTM).The power tools brand will be the lead sponsor of Canadian driver Robert Wickens' Mercedes AMG C-Coup with its logo worked into the livery of the car. In addition, the team will use Stihl BGA 85 engine blowers to cool its cars throught the 2013 season. Stihl has been a co-sponsor of the team since 2009.The Mercedes team has also brought RTL television programme GRIP - The Motor Magazine on board as a co-sponsor for the new season.

Jrgen Fitting, the head of marketing communication for Stihl, said: "The outstanding engineering that goes into the Mercedes AMG racing car and the fact that Robert Wickens personifies the Canadian outdoorsman very much reflects our brand values, namely uncompromising professional quality. Both car and driver are perfect brand ambassadors for Stihl."The 2013 DTM series will begin at Germany's Hockenheim circuit on 5th May.
