BELLE Vue have signed rising Great Britain star Richie Worrall on a full transfer from Scunthorpe - after a move to Elite League rivals Lakeside fell through.Worrall is on loan to Newcastle in the Premier League this season although his top-flight arrangements for 2013 are unclear as the Aces already have a full team.New co-promoter George Carswell said: I received a call to tell me there was a problem over his contract at Lakeside. I have a lot of respect for Lakeside and promoter Jon Cook so we had a management discussion and we approached Jon out of courtesy to see what the situation was.It was an opportunity we couldnt miss and we have worked very hard over the last three days to make it happen. Im well pleased that we didnt waste time to secure a fine rider.

EDINBURGH are in talks with Danish rider Claus Vissing as they still seek a resolution to Sam Masters work permit problems.Local MP Michael Connarty has taken up the Masters case, whilst Vissing attended the clubs press and sponsors event on Friday and could come into the team in time for their opening fixtures.Promoter John Campbell said: If anyone can help us out with accommodation that would be vital in coming to an agreement with Claus. Ideally he would be looking for workshop facilities also.We do have a very big problem with Sam who has been refused a visa because of a new rule. He is very unlucky and we feel very sorry for him. We have not given up, but of course we are now very close to the start of the season, and we cant start with six riders next Friday.

SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey has paid tribute to club captain David Howe who celebrates his Testimonial at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday.Meeting organisers have been encouraged by the weather forecast for the meeting for Howe, who joined the Scorpions in 2009 and is their all-time top points scorer.Godfrey said: Every club needs a guy people can relate to and when you say David Howe now, straight away you think Scunthorpe Speedway.  He says he wants to be at Scunthorpe for the rest of his racing career and we want him to stay. Its his fifth season with us and in that time, hes not only become a good servant to Scunthorpe, hes become a good friend too. I sincerely hope his meeting is a huge success, and we get a great crowd in for him.
