Round 2: Brick & Steel Border Counties Rally, 23 March
Quintin Milne and co-driver Martin Forrest claimed victory on the Brick & Steel Border Counties Rally at the wheel of their Mitsubishi EVO, despite weather conditions placing grip at a premium.
Milne led from start to finish with fastest times on three of the four timed stages; a fifth test was cancelled due to the sheer amount of snow. Second place went to another Mitsubishi driver, Barry Groundwater, though he was over a minute down on the leading crew, while the final podium spot went to Stephen Petch in a similar car.
Reigning champion David Bogie brought his ex-Colin McRae Ford Focus WRC home in fourth but took advantage of the fact that Petch is not registered for championship points.
