EDINBURGH have confirmed the loan signing of Claus Vissing following the visa problems suffered by Australian rider Sam Masters.Danish star Vissing will make his Monarchs debut on at Berwick on Saturday having impressed in the recent Ben Fund Bonanza at the same venue. He said: Im really happy to be with Edinburgh, its a good club. Ive not ridden Armadale before but that doesnt worry me. Its a shame the first meeting (on Friday) is off.I already knew Craig Cook and Jozsef Tabaka from before, and Theo Pijper. Derek Sneddon is the captain and he seems very nice, I think the team spirit is important.

POOLE manager Neil Middleditch is looking to set down an early marker when his side face league champions Swindon in the Elite Shield this week. The Robins beat the Pirates to the top prize in 2012 and meet again at the start of the new season, racing at Blunsdon on Thursday evening and then Wimborne Road at midday on Good Friday.Middleditch said: As reigning league champions there is no doubt Swindon are going to be the team everyone will want to beat in 2013.However, I believe Pirates have the riders that every other rider and fans wants to see their man beat. And that all fits nicely into a potential Easter period feast of racing with plenty of scores to settle.(SPEEDWAY 3)
SCUNTHORPE boss Richard Hollingsworth is confident his side can mount a strong defence of the Premier League title this year. The Scorpions, who kick off their season with a League Cup clash against Leicester on Good Friday afternoon, have retained five riders from their victorious 2012 campaign.Hollingsworth said: The minimum we want is to make the play-offs, and once were in those theres every chance of winning another league title. We have a young team, with plenty of room for riders to progress. In particular, I look at the middle order - Thomas Jrgensen, Ashley Birks and Michael Palm Toft - and each of those could substantially improve their average. Im convinced some more exciting times are ahead for this club this season.
