Stunning Superstock 600 Win for Collier

Joe Collier riding on the Team Haribo Starmix Triumph had a great opening start to the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship taking a stunning win in the 22-lap race at the short Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. Joe is in his second season of the Superstock 600 Championship and finished last season on the podium and started this season with his first ever win in the class.

The 18-year-old for Leicester has been working hard over the winter on his fitness and was eager to start the season strong. Despite the very cold track conditions the likeable youngster was eager to set good and consistent lap times throughout the weekend and never fell any lower than second position during the practice and qualifying sessions, qualifying in second place on the grid he was keen to get his head down and get a good result.

He gained the hole-shot and led into the first few corners, Jordan Simpkin made a move on him and Joe sat in second place just saving his tyres and watching where he could make his move. On the start of lap 19 the gap appeared when some back markers were on the racing line into Paddock Hill, Joe saw his chance and dived underneath the leader plus two of the back markers taking a confident lead and led for the remainder of the race taking the win by 0.1.

Joe Collier -

"It's been a really good weekend for me and to take the overall win is awesome especially with it being my first race win. I felt really comfortable all weekend but it was made harder with the weather and track temperature, as it was hard to get the information we needed and vital track time. The Haribo Starmix team worked really hard all weekend and I'd like to thank all my sponsors SM UK, MC Motors, Triumph World, Shoei, RST and Harley World of Chesterfield, my Dad and Paul for all their help and hope I can continue this form for the rest of the season. I'm really looking forward to Thruxton next weekend I can't wait to get there now."
