Lando looks ahead after disappointing end to WSK Masters Series weekend

ADD Motorsports driver Lando Norris vowed to focus on winning the WSK Euro Series after a disappointing outing in the Masters.  The 13-year-old racer won three out of the four heats and set the fastest lap time during the Sarno weekend. But problems with the karts engine and a slight mistake during the final prevented him from reaching the speeds he had earlier and the heights he had in previous weeks.

After two fantastic wins in the WSK Euro Series in March, Lando now believes this is his best chance of a title this season. He said: I came second in the first round of the Masters Series, so its not over and Ill keep trying to get as many points as possible, but its the Euro Series that I want to win now

Im doing really well in it with two wins so I have a good chance. It wasnt a great weekend, but theres two weeks to get things right again before the next race.

Lando was in great form heading into Sarno for the second round of the Masters Series, after cruising to victory in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge opener last week

After getting used to the track earlier in the week, he won his first three heats comfortably. But when his team decided to change a few things with the kart for the last heat he found he was slower around corners. Although the problem was rectified, it came back during the pre final, meaning he finished in fourth. But although he found some of his top speeds again during the final, the same problem reared up yet again leaving Lando struggling to make up any ground.

However, a mistake that saw him spin onto the grass prevented any chance of him taking a top 5 place and he ended the race down in 14th. He added: It wasnt great, but I did well considering the problems we had, the mistake that saw me spin and the fact that I had never raced here before, where lots of the other drivers had.It wasnt the result I wanted or needed, but I can still do well as long as I pick up more points in the next round.

Lando now heads back to Sarno in a fortnight for the next round of the WSK Euro Series.
