Ex-Formula One driver Robert Kubica has signed a personal sponsorship deal with racing gear manufacturer Alpinestars.

Alpinestars will provide racing products and technical support to Kubica and his co-driver Maciek Baran as the two compete in this years European Rally Championship (ERC) and World Rally Championship-2 (WRC-2). Whilst driving for Citroen in both series, the pair will wear Alpinestars suits, gloves, under-layers and boots.

Kubica, who became the first Polish national to compete in Formula One when he debuted at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2006, is appearing in his first international racing series since suffering a serious hand injury in 2011. He has maintained ties with Alpinestars since 2009
