WELCOMES TV TALENT SHOW FINALISTS
With Britains Got Talent and The Voice being welcomed back to our television screens last weekend, Castle Combe Cycling Circuit is delighted to announce that Savage Skills, finalists in one of the 2012 talent programmes, Lets Get Gold, will be appearing at the Castle Combe Cycling Festival and Severn Bridge Sportive on Sunday 2nd June 2013.
Lets Get Gold pitted fifteen sporting teams against each other in July 2012 as they aimed to transform their sport into the most spectacular and entertaining routine. Sports ranged from basketball to football, trampolining to gymnastics, golf to cycling and much more. Savage Skills was voted through by the audience in the first round and eventually took Bronze in the finals behind the acrobatics team, Acropolis.
Ben Savage who manages Savage Skills and is a key performer within the group confirmed: It was a wonderful experience to appear on ITV1. We have performed numerous shows over the years to crowds of hundreds if not thousands of people. Many of us have also participated and won in both European and World BMX Championships. To appear on television however with both a live audience and a television audience running into the millions definitely took the adrenaline to a new level. It was an experience that all of us will put amongst our top days out and will be one that we carry with us into the future.
Savage Skills will be performing the Ultimate Air Show at the Castle Combe Cycling Festival which will involve two stunt cyclists and a commentator. Performances will take place throughout the day and, between shows, they will be providing a Stunt Skills Participation Area for kids (and adults) to try their hand at learning a few new tricks and skills.
Jo Sparrow, Marketing and Events Manager at Castle Combe Circuit explained: The ethos behind the Castle Combe Cycling Festival is to allow visitors to really get involved in all areas and levels of cycling. We are absolutely delighted that Savage Skills is getting involved to both wow and entertain our visitors whilst their Stunt Participation Area just adds to the have-a-go element of this event. Ben and his team have experiences and stories galore and what better way for kids to pick up a few new skills than direct from the experts themselves. This really is hands on cycling at its very best.
In addition to Savage Skills, we have also invited a whole range of cycling organisations to enable some fun cycling for all ages and abilities. Toddlebikes and Strider will both be providing have-a-go activities for younger children whilst Wacky Cycles will be providing a range of challenging yet fun bicycles for children and adults alike. British Cycling will be bringing their Go Ride agility trials, Cycling Projects will bring along a range of specially adapted bikes supporting their Wheels for All initiative and we have just received confirmation that Wiltshire Council will be supporting the event with their Road Safety Team which is fantastic news. And thats just a taste of what weve got going on over the day!
