A pair of aces will share the Ferrari 458 GT2 of the Italian team. From April 26 to 28 they will debut in Le Castellet for the first round of the season
Villorba Corse officially announces its participation to the International GT Open 2013.
For their third season in the series organised by GT Sport the Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio will enter a Ferrari 458 GT2 for Andrea Montermini and new entry Luca Filippi. The pair represents a perfect synthesis of talent and brings together Montermini's GT racing experience, the former F1 driver is the recordman for wins in GT Open, and Filippi's innate speed, one of the best youngsters in recent years (official tester of the Honda F1 program and GP2 Series runner-up in 2011). Montemini-Filippi will make their GT Open debut at Paul Ricard, first round of the season, over the weekend of April 28 straight after a quick shakedown to be held in Adria early next week.
Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal: I can not deny that last winter was one of the toughest in our history and we had to change our operating philosophy. It will be a very tough season but all the people who support us will allow the team to successfully overcome this new adventure. The renewal with Andrea and the coming of Luca are the best gifts after a very hard work. Both are very fast and professional drivers and, for different reasons, they have a great desire to prove their value. The whole team will strive with the utmost determination from the first race.
Andrea Montermini: Being back on track behind the wheel of a Villorba Corse Ferrari makes me very happy. I would like to thank Raimondo Amadio for this new demonstration of professional skills and tenacity. The coming of a young talent and the experience of Luca Filippi are a strong motivation in the certainty of being able to work well together. We have everything to succeed, I can't wait to get on track.
Luca Filippi: I would like to thank Raimondo Amadio for this thrilling opportunity. During the winter I had the opportunity to test many solutions but racing with the Villorba Corse Ferrari 458 is the best one for the present and for the future. Furthermore, racing alongside a champion like Andrea Montermini makes it even more exciting. It's up to us now: we want to repay the team with great results.
