Auto GP contest round 5 at Mugello

The Auto GP championship will line-up at Mugello for Round 5 of the 2013 season, scheduled for the 14th of July. The event was originally set to take place at Zandvoort, but the Dutch racetrack  anticipated the date by one week, creating an inappropriate clash with the GP2 and Formula 1 races in Germany. As a consequence, the series' promoter decided to switch venues. Mugello will provide an equally demanding and technical environment for the Teams and Drivers of Auto GP. In 2011, the circuit had hosted the season finale, with the title ending up in the hands of Kevin Ceccon. Auto GP will thus return in Italy after last March's Monza opener.Enzo Coloni: We are happy to be back at Mugello. The Tuscan venue is definitely one of the top locations at national and international level both in technical and organizational terms. So far, we have been the series with the most Italian drivers on the grid, eight, and being back to Italy is a well-deserved reward for a country that gave so much to our sport.Paolo Poli (Mugello Circuits CEO): Promoting motorsports all-around by providing high quality is our way of life, and the agreement reached with Enzo Coloni and his series reflects these characters. Auto GP is currently one of the most interesting and competitive championships of the international panorama. We are sure that the technically challenging nature of Mugello will highlight the driving ability of their racers to delight the crowds on-track and the fans following the series at home on Eurosport.
