Masters secures Touring Car race at Silverstone Classic

Masters Historic Racing has confirmed that it will run the Pre-66 Touring Car content of the Trans-Atlantic Touring Car Trophy at the Silverstone Classic (July 26th-28th).Masters Historic Racing will run two 20-minute races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, for Pre-66 Touring Cars racing aptly name the Trans Atlantic Touring Car Trophy. The race will be open to all Masters eligible pre-66 touring cars, allowing the American V8 muscle to share the stage with homologation specials such as the Lotus Cortina and Mini Cooper. The races will be single-driver races but a car can be shared allowing costs to be split and the races are sure to thrill the expected huge crowd at the one of the Worlds leading historic race meetings.Masters Event Manager Rachel Bailey said: This is great news for Masters and our touring car drivers. We are pleased to be able to put on not one but two exciting touring car races and are sure that the full grid that we are expecting will produce some superb racing all through the field. Touring car racing is a real crowd-pleaser, whether it is contemporary or historic, and we are sure that the fans will be wowed by the action.The Silverstone Classic, which combines racing with concerts and a host of off-track attractions, runs form July 26th28th.
