Isaac Tutumlu debuts with Autorlando Sport in the GT Open

alongside Greeces Dimitris Deverikos.

Isaac Tutumlu, the driver born in Barcelona but with Kurdish heritage, has chosen the International GT Open to take part in with Barzani Racing Team.

Tutumlu tested the new Mobil 1 Porsche Supercups car during pre-season tests, but  decided to race in the International GT Open, one of the best GT championships on the international scene with important brands like Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren or Chevrolet involved.

Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team are going to use a Porsche 997 GT3 R, in GTS class, and the Catalan driver will be joined by a new teammate, Dimitris Deverikos.  Round 1 is scheduled at Paul Ricard next weekend.

Its amazing to make a deal to participate in the International GT Open this year. I think to drive a car lined up by Autorlando Sport, a long-term outfit working with Porsche Motorsport and officially-backed, is a guarantee to clinch our targets: not just race wins but the GTS title as well. It wont be an easy task because were facing very experienced drivers, including former Formula 1 ones!, Tutumlu said.

Unfortunately I couldnt test my new car before, but I dont think it will be a problem. Ive plenty of experience with Porsche-built cars and used to drive them, mainly in the Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup but also in the International GT Open or Endurance Trophy IberGT. Regarding this track, Paul Ricard, Ive never raced there before, but Im already working on the simulator learning braking points. Weve two free practice sessions on Friday too. My teammate Dimitris well, Ive never raced with him but his racing background is pretty good, very quick and with know-how to win in the GT Open. Our targets need to be ambitious taking into account everything the Spaniard driver pointed out. He will use the Kurdish flag colors on his car once again.

The timetable for Paul Ricard has scheduled two free practice sessions on Friday. On Saturday both qualifying sessions are taking place in the morning and then, in the afternoon, race one consisting of 70 minutes. Race 2 is on Sunday and consisting of 50 minutes.
