Montermini,Filippi back on track in Portimao‏ GT Open

First in SuperGT and second in the overall standings, their Villorba Corse Ferrari 458 GT2 is ready for the second GT Open round to be held next weekend at the demanding Autdromo do Algarve

After a very exciting start of the season in Le Castellet, Villorba Corse gets back on track in the 2013 International GT Open at the Autdromo do Algarve over the weekend of May 12. On the demanding Portuguese track the Venetian team led by Raimondo Amadio will aim to confirm itself as one of the title-contender squad with Andrea Montermini and Luca Filippi at the wheel of their Ferrari 458 GT2. The talented Villorba crew, capable of two stunning comebacks in the first round of the series, will have to maintain first place among Super GT cars and chase the top of the overall standings. It will be a tough job as Portimao has become one of the most appreciated track among drivers and around 30 cars will be expected in Portugal for a round valid also for the Spanish / Iber GT Championship. Above all, however, the former F1 driver from Modena and the young GP2 winner from Cuneo will start the weekend with a very high time handicap to be paid during race-1 mandatory pit-stop because of their great results at Paul Ricard.

The direction taken in Le Castellet seems to be right - says Amadio, Team Principal -, we have to keep on working on the same path even though we know that our opponents are increasing and more prepared. The harmony between Montermini and Filippi has been effective since the beginning and so we have to take advantage of it.

The Portuguese weekend will start on Friday, May 10 with two free practice sessions. Qualifying is scheduled on Saturday at 9:45 and 12:05. Race-1 (70 minutes) will take place at 15:55. On Sunday race-2 (50 minutes) will be at 11:55. Practice, qualifying and both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV).
