Motors TV Weekend Highlights

This weekend on Motors TV

Motors TV switches to Sky channel 447 (May 9) but youll find the usual combination of must-see live action and the best highlights on offer throughout the weekend. Sky viewers who have added the channel to their favourites list can still access it using this method, while Virgin Media subscribers needn't make any adjustments: you can still find Motors TV on 545.

And viewers will want to be sure theyre in the right place this weekend with a feast of live action on the menu. The International GT Open and European F3 Open competitors will be hoping for better conditions at Portimao than those experienced at the season-opening Paul Ricard event. A combination of rain and dense fog made the French round particularly treacherous, though that didn't stop Nelson Mason and Sandy Stuvik claiming a victory apiece in the F3 category. Theyll be looking to back up their early successes with further silverware in Portugal.

We've also got the usual helping of top-level US action, kicking off with delayed-as-live coverage of the NASCAR Nationwide event at Darlington Raceway on Saturday evening. Sam Hornish Jr. surrendered his points lead to Regan Smith at last weekend's Talladega event when the JR Motorsports driver claimed outright victory, so the former IndyCar champ will be looking to fight back at the South Carolina venue.

On Sunday we're swapping east coast for west with the American Le Mans Series' trip to Laguna Seca. As circuits go its up there with the continents finest, with prototype and GT drivers alike set to tackle one of the most awe-inspiring corners in world motorsport: the Corkscrew.

Elsewhere we've got a double-bill of the immensely popular Eurocup Tractor Pulling series on Sunday morning followed by a third helping in the evening, highlights from last weekend's V8 Supercars round at Barbagallo and British GT's two-hour event at Rockingham.

So while were switching to a new Sky channel number, Motors TV remains the home of domestic and international racing action.
