Richard Gonda eying podium at Algarve European F3 Open

The Autdromo do Algarvewill host two new races for the European F3 Open next weekend, and Slovakias Richard Gonda will be behind the wheel of the Drivex Dallara F308 once more. The goal is rather similar to that for the season opener, team and driver are looking for another podium finish after being 3rd at Paul Ricard.

The young Slovakian ace has achieved two podiums with Drivex so far, he was third in Jerez during Winter Series event there and then, at Paul Ricard, took another 3rd step on the podium. His race in France was an amazing one because after starting from the back on the starting grid, he managed to overtake over fifteen cars and be 3rd in the Copa classification.

In Portugal Richard will race at Autdromo do Algarve for first time. Anyway unknown tracks arent a problem for him as proved in Jerez, and top-places in Copa classification are an affordable target. Tomorrow Gonda will take part in test sessions scheduled previous to Friday free practice sessions. First qualifying session is due to start next Saturday at 11.10, with race one at 15.00. On Sunday, after second qualifying session, race two begins at 13.15.

Richard Gonda: Its my pleasure to race again with Drivex team. Ive never raced in Portimao, but I hope to enjoy these new races. We have whole Thursday to test there so I will know the circuit for weekends races.Miguel ngel de Castro: After our podium in France, our team and Richard proved that our level is optimal. Maybe its a small handicap that Richard doesnt know this circuit but his pure speed and quick adaptation are a guarantee for success. I think were in readiness for good results.
