The champion cyclist beat all the odds to take gold in the C1 3km pursuit and silver in the C1-3 1km time trial at last years London Paralympic Gameshaving gone through what he himself describes as hell and back to get there.

After breaking his back in a near-fatal paragliding accident in 2009leaving Colbourne with lower leg paralysis and drop foot in both feethe fought for a year to learn to walk again with walking aids and now shines as a full-time para-cyclist for his country.

Colbourne will be showing Woffinden how its really done as the pair hook up to undertake the final 15-mile stretch to Cardiff.

Speaking about his fundraising efforts, Tai, 22, said: After losing my father to cancer in 2010, I want to raise money to help beat it. I am supporting Cancer Research UK in the fight against the disease. One in three people in the UK at some point in their life will be told they have cancer and its obviously very close to my heart.

Its fantastic to have the support of such an accomplished sportsman as Mark along the wayhopefully Ill be able to keep up!

Im really pleased with the way the series is going for me so far, so Im hoping for great things in Cardiff with the support of a home crowd behind me.

Colbourne is delighted to be teaming up with Woffy in the fight against cancer. He said: "I feel very touched by the invitation to join Tai in his epic cycling quest from Wolverhampton to Cardiff to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Having personally lost my dad to stomach cancer, I admire his efforts to swap his motorised machine for a man powered one and to raise not only the awareness of cancer in the UK, but to become a charity fundraiser for the cause. I look forward to spending the day with Tai and giving him any tips to make the journey more comfortable and enjoyable."
