kicks off at Butts Quarry on May 19th (S45 0HW)

RideoffroadUK head to Butts Quarry for the second round of the Putoline supported 4- Hour Series on Sunday May 19th. The main reason for choosing Butts Quarry is in the event of wet weather, the event and parking facilities at Butts will not be an issue for all competitors and spectators. Butts Quarry is a very central venue with superb paddock facilities, it is in great shape after the recent fine weather, and with spring now blooming we are set for a cracking team event. Already we have had an influx of team entries from riders wishing to compete in this new series backed by UK lubricant giant Putoline Oils.

The day starts with the Putoline 2 hour Youth event which caters for youth riders in teams, or those who simply want to ride solo for two hours. After a short break for the Presentation and results of the Youth event, it will be the turn of the Adults to start the marathon Putoline 4 hour event. A Le Mans style start will see riders running 20 meters before leaping onto bikes and ripping down the start straight.

Team riders can ride on their own machine or share one bike, both riders on the same race number, next to the pits area is a "Change Over" area where one rider waits for his team mate to come in and "tag" him so he can then go out on track. This allows riders to take a well earned break and cheer on their partner, or make vital repairs and adjustments while their team mate is out clocking up the laps.

Solo Ironman riders simply start and ride solo for the full 4 hours...are you strong enough for the Putoline 4 hour challenge??
