Motorcycle racing makes its annual visit to the Castle Combe Circuit, with the Fowlers Motorcycles/Motorcycle Direct Insurance/Simply SAAB 'King of Clubs' race day on Saturday June 8, laying on 20 races for a full day of action and entertainment.The NG Road Racing club, which has been organising races since 1970, has organised an impressive programme, with races from the 125s up to the 250 GP ACU National.This is a once a year chance for local riders to race on the circuit chosen by the Honda TT Legends team for their TT testing. All the top 6 riders in the TT lap record braking Superbike race tested at Castle Combe as did Michael Dunlop, winner of the Superbike and Supersport TT's this year.Wayside Garage from Devizes will be sponsoring the Rider of the Day award and the 600 race. This will be one to savour with Chris Hawkes on his Suzuki taking on Oliver Hill and Peter Carr along with Calne resident Scott Pitchers. Pitchers put on a stunning display last year and the 19 year old will be out to impress again this term on his new 675 Triumph Daytona, having switched from an R6 Yamaha.Phil Bevan will be out to bag more points in the 'King of Combe' race but will face tough opposition in the shape of reigning Michelin Power Cupchampion James Cox, as well as Simon Knowlson, Chris Pope, Jason Oakes and Paul Shook.

This meeting is the only place you will see the Grand Prix derived pure-bred racing machines from the 250 GP ACU National championship competing in a full national championship.There is also the 250 GP NG Cup for up and coming non-national licence holders. Ant Hodson leads the current standings by just one point over Chris Martin, who has been unbeaten in his last four rides.Also watch out for the Mini Twins class,F400, 700 pre injection, 1300cc Classic and the amazing Sidecars.The event gets under way at 9:00 am with practice, qualifying races start at 10:45 am, and the feature races of the day from 1:00 pm.Admission prices are 15 for Adults, 10.00 for OAPs, 2.50 for Paddock Transfer, whilst accompanied children under 17 are admitted free.
