Maserati World Series, Another step forward for Javier Ibran at Nurburgring

The Spaniard driver, improving his speed at the wheel of the Maserati GranTurismo MC, finished into top-ten in Germany. Difficult weather conditions werent a problem to improve his performance in the championship, despite the high-profile championship where hes taking part this year.

Javier Ibran completed a very positive weekend at Nurburgring, and the feedback was excellent for the Valencia-born driver. The Maserati World Series arrived in Germany for its second meeting in 2013, taking place at the famous Grune Holle.

After extremely difficult conditions at Paul Ricard, Nrburgring was rather similar, with rain and fog in the same manner. Free practice sessions on Friday werent an easy approach for Ibrn, finishing 19th and 15th respectively with almost thirty cars on track. Qualifying sessions went on in the same way, being delayed due to fog. Ibrn could qualify his car in the afternoon, but brake problems prevented him to improve 16th and 13th in Q1 and Q2 respectively.

Shortly after the qualifying sessions race one was scheduled at 17.50 and, finally, in dry conditions. Gaining confidence with the car on dry asphalt, Ibrn came in 13th place, explaining that our previous brake problems look solved. Ive improved my experience with car and track, and tomorrow everything looks even better. And Ibrn wasnt wrong. On Sunday, with almost perfect weather conditions, he managed to finish 10th in race two even being hit by other cars twice, his first top-ten in the series. Then, in race threelonger than race one and two- he equaled his previous result: 10th again. My second race was pretty difficult, because two cars crashed with me, and I needed to overtake several cars later because I was last by then. Last but not least, the engine started to work in protection mode, and it was another challenge! But I managed to overcome problems and finish into top-ten. Race three and its endurance format, gave me good excitement and positive conclusions. It looks like I already understand how the car works and these results are a good prospect for next meetings. I feel optimistic, he stressed before leaving Nrburgring.

Next meeting is Silverstone, on 13-14 July. The English venue is last Ibrans event on European soli before visiting countries like USA, China and UAE.
