Gonda and Drivex leave Nurburgring increasing their lead in Copa

Richard Gonda and Drivex had another dominant weekend at Nurburgring, third venue in the European F3 Open.

The Slovakian team and the Spaniard outfit achieved another win, a second place and not less important two pole positions, proving how fast theyre both in qualifying or races.

Gonda was fastest in free practice sessions and then smashed field on Saturdays qualifying. His first race was being dominant as well, but then a minor problem with front wing forced him to slow down but managed to finish second and just another car overtaking him. For Sunday he eyed podium again, and Slovakias driver clinched another pole position in the morning. Then, at noon, he led the entire race, even battling with Dallara F312 cars. At later stages he focused on winning the Copa, and at the same time finished 10th overall. Gonda is leading Copa classification, 14 points ahead of his closest rival.

Now Drivex and Gonda will prepare the following round at Circuito de Jerez, on 15-16 June, a track where the young Slovakian ace already finished on podium in Winter Series.

Richard Gonda: Im very satisfied after this weekend. We were first from the free practice sessions. Even improving from session to session and finally we proved our pace winning on Sunday! In both qualifying sessions we had a very fast car and got both pole positions. In the first race my front wing was damaged, so I feel happy with our second place. On Sunday everything went great and I was very competitive with the F312s. It was amazing to finish on the highest step of the podium again. Ive to send a big Gracias to whole Drivex team, they did a great job!.Miguel ngel de Castro: Richard was incredible this weekend once again. On Saturday he couldnt win after a minor problem, and without that incident I think another victory was possible because his lead was very solid by then. On Sunday he wanted to take revenge and, setting another pole position time, pulled away. We asked him to avoid fights with Dallara F312 cars in the second race. The weekend was another prize for the team and the driver, always working as hard as possible.
