The Motor Sports Associations inaugural Go Motorsport Live! open day at Silverstone on Sunday 7 July is gaining considerable momentum as the sport comes together to draw newcomers into the exciting world of motor sport.Created as an integral part of the governing bodys drive to help more people to get involved in all areas of motor sport, Go Motorsport Live! will showcase all the sport has to offer, from grassroots events to the pinnacle of international motor sport.As well as a range of enthusiastic motor clubs, championships, teams and other organisations to explain how to get started in the sport, there will also be a line-up of attractions that already includes cars from the UKs premier Le Mans team Strakka Racing, Rob Austins BTCC Audi A4 and the Caterham Motor Sport Academy.Oxford Motor Club will be staging an AutoSolo event to offer passengers the chance to experience what it feels like to drive as fast as possible around a course marked out with cones.Highlighting the MSAs Year of the Volunteer initiative, marshals clubs from the area will also be out in force. They will be offering advice to potential recruits as well as performing rescue demonstrations, thus providing visitors with a further insight into volunteering.Visitors interested in engineering and, perhaps, a future career within the UKs world-leading motor sport industry will also be able to watch the Formula Student Endurance Finalsrun by the Institution of Mechanical Engineersthat are also taking place at Silverstone that weekend.Go Motorsport Live! will be staged just one week after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and comes at the culmination of National Motorsport Week 2013 (29 June-7July).Entrance to this exciting event is free but visitors need to pre-register in advance for their entry ticket.
