MSA British Superkart Championship

Rounds 3 & 4: Silverstone, 9 June

Championship newcomer Richard Blackburn scored two wins at Silverstone after a number of favourites fell by the wayside.

The on-track action was fast and furious but the attrition rate was high. In race one Ben Davis had a spell at the front before an incident with Paul Platt took him out of the race and handed Platt a 5-place penalty. Louis Wall also led briefly before engine problems put him out.

In race two Platt was in a commanding lead until a water hose came off and he retired into the pits. James OReilly then ledfor two cornersbefore his chain broke and he joined Platt in the pits. Blackburn then picked up the pieces after a bad start and held off Phil Rowlands at the flag by less than two seconds.
