Bradshaw the Man to Beat as Porsches Visit Silverstone

As the series prepares for the first of its two outings on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit this coming Saturday, June 15th, Tom Bradshaw is proving himself the driver to beat in the Porsche Club Championship with Pirelli this seasonthe newcomer winning the last four races out of the six rounds to date. The series regulars will be keen to rise to the challenge in the two Silverstone events, with experienced racers such as Mark Sumpter and Pete Morris determined to keep the points battle tight and the on-track action close!Bradshaws Hartech Boxster S has been a front-running presence in every race, though last year Silverstones broad expanses seemed to suit the 996 C2s as run by Morris, who won the opening two races at Donington, and former champion Mark McAleer, so Saturday afternoons two 25-minute races could answer a lot of questions about the potential destination of the championship. Sumpter and rapid team-mate Adrian Slater run the older 964 C2 model, but a rule change allowing them to run bigger wheels has seen them able to hold their pace race long and either could be a threat.Craig Wilkins, the GT racer out in Morris old 996, is another driver to challenge the lead group, while Marcus Carniel, team-mate to Bradshaw, has gone well at Silverstone before. With the various models balanced in class by power to weight ratio, whoever comes out on top will have worked hard for their win.John McCullagh has gone one better than Bradshaw with five wins in Class Two so far this season. He has had to work for his most recent wins after some stiff opposition within his class, with fellow 968 CS racer Mark Koeberle a growing challenge, as well as the hugely experienced Brian Robinson a regular class podium visitor. Ben Eacock is another to have become a regular podium threat, while newcomer Graham Knight has been another podium visitor.Qualifying is at 10.00am on Saturday morning with the two 25-minute races at 14.20 and 17.15.
