Leaders in the standings Montermini and Filippi will face the fourth 2013 GT Open round at the wheel of their Ferrari 458 GT2
For the first time ever Villorba Corse and the International GT Open get out on track in Jerez De La Frontera for the fourth 2013 round, to be held over the weekend of June 16. With six podiums out of six races at the wheel of their powerful Ferrari 458 Andrea Montermini and Luca Filippi are facing a very hot racing weekend (over 35 degrees expected!) as leaders in the standings. The talented Villorba crew will have to close the gap of their very high time handicap to be paid at the mandatory pit-stop. The handicap depends on their great results in Le Castellet, Portimao and Nurburging: two wins, one second and three third places. So at Jerez their job will be even more challenging. Moreover, new rivals and more opponents are expected to take part in a round valid also for the Spanish GT championship.
For us, as a team, this track is completely new - says Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal -, a further reason to work with even more determination. However both Andrea and Luca have already raced there getting very good results. We will have to be consistent and confirm our leadership. It will be very hot in Jerez. It is a crucial element to work on. We knew it since the beginning of the season so we are confident to be ready to fight.
The Spanish weekend will start on Friday, June 14 with two free practice sessions. Qualifying is scheduled on Saturday at 9:15 and 12:05. Race-1 (70 minutes) will take place at 15:55. On Sunday race-2 (50 minutes) will start at 11:55. Practice, qualifying and both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV).
