Maiden podium for Facu Regalia in GP3

Facu Regalia finished in second place in Valencia, where the second meeting of GP3 was held last weekend. Starting 3rd on the grid, he couldnt overtake Danyl Kvyat at the start, but he managed to do shortly after putting pressure on him. Then, his next target was Conor Daly, who set the pole position and was leading the race. Regalia was in the Dalys slipstream lap by lap, alwayshoping for a mistake coming from the USAs driver. It didnt work, because Daly didnt make any mistake  - and maybe an overtaking maneuver, given the fact they both are teammates, could have been dangerous.

I feel quite happy. Second meeting this season and I already reached podium. It was our target after a good preseason tests, but in Barcelona nothing was how we expected. Fortunately we changed it in Valencia. I could pass Kvyat, putting pressure on him, and after my tactic was identical with Conor, but this time it wasnt possible. Valencia is always a difficult track to overtake other cars and it was risky. This podium here is awesome, with my family, friends and fans attending the event. Its a present for my father, because its Fathers day, Regalia said.

In race two, Regalia was 7th on the grid due to reverse grid. My start was average, not good or bad, but I couldnt overtake other drivers. I made several attempts to pass Korjus. My main concern was not to destroy my tires at the beginning, at final stages I almost managed to improve my seventh place, but it was impossible. A seventh place in race two, after being 2nd in the morning, it was a good balance and more points, Regalia pointed out.

Now Regalia lies 8th in the overall standings, with next event taking place at Silverstone on 28-30 June.
