Rain stopped play after the first round of eliminations after Bruno Bader had set a rigorous pace.

The Swiss driver had clocked the events Low Elapsed Time and Top Speed to secure pole position in qualifying, and then beat Kevin Slyfield in his opening match.

Andy Frost qualified second with another new world-best for a road-legal car (6.493sec) while Easter winner Rick Garrett also set personal-best figures. Reigning MSA champion Roger Moore made his season debut.
