SPEEDWAY Premier League Fours update
SCUNTHORPE have regained their place in the Premier League Fours at Peterboroughfollowing Sheffields withdrawal from the July 14 event. The Scorpions were amongst the initial qualifiers for the meeting, but were ruled out due to injuries to David Howe and Thomas Jorgensen which meant they looked unlikely to be able to field a full, competitive side. However, the duo are now back in action meaning Scunthorpe can track the team which originally qualified - whilst Sheffield have been hit by the broken leg suffered by Simon Stead this week, and recent signing Adam Roynon is not eligible for the event. With the approval of BSPA Chairman Alex Harkess, the Tigers have withdrawn from the Fours in the best interests of the sport and the line-up will therefore revert to the original qualifiers, with Scunthorpe taking their place in Semi-Final 1.Due to their availability problems Sheffield cannot now be on stand-by and the next club in line, Redcar, assume that position.
