Seb Morris Aiming For 'Home' Success As F4 Heads To Oulton Park‏

Seb Morris will head to his home track, Oulton Park near Chester, this coming Saturday, 6th July, for the fourth race meeting of the 2013 BRDC Formula 4 Championship season where he is determined to maintain his top three position in the driver standings. As the only event this year where all of the track activity will take place on a single day, the Ginetta Ambassador knows consistency and a measured approach to the weekends racing will be absolutely vital in avoiding trouble and securing strong finishes in rounds 10, 11 and 12.Having begun the year very impressively with three podium finishes at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, since then the 17-year-old has encountered a fair amount of misfortunenot least at Brands Hatch in May when he was pitched into a hefty accident by a rival and a resulting non-finish.Last time out at Snetterton, though, Seb made a welcome and deserved return to the rostrum and goes into the Oulton Park race meeting third in the title battle just 15 points behind second place and only 18 points shy of the championship lead. Its still wide open, he commented, Weve got a lot of races left and although Jake [Dalton] and Charlie [Robertson] are a bit ahead Im hopeful we can cling on to them at Oulton, then we should be able to start attacking more when our testing schedule ramps up after next weekend. Our lack of testing compared to the others has held us back a bit, but were still in a decent position.Oulton is my favourite track, its a lot like Silverstone GP in that the driver can make a big difference and really get the most out of their package. Unless we hit problems in qualifying, and start further back than wed like, then Im sure we can have a strong weekend and take away plenty of points.Ahead of this coming Saturdays event, Seb has received a welcome boost in the form of a brand new sponsorWarrington-based Cable Systems Ltd. Run by Directors Helen and Jonathan Rigby, the business is a key supplier of specialist equipment to the Hazardous Area Industry and the Industrial Electrical Market.I really am looking forward to racing on home ground at Oulton and its fantastic to be able to welcome Cable Systems Ltd onboard as a new sponsor, added Seb, Hopefully we can celebrate a successful first weekend together.Immediately following the Oulton Park event Seb, his father Phillip and best friend Matt Groome will embark on a major test of endurance with a 700-mile cycle ride around the circumference of Wales, hugging the border with England and then the Welsh coastline as closely as possible.Setting off from Wrexham on Sunday, 7th July, the trio will travel south towards Kilpeck, Caerleon and Burry Port and then across to St Davids and Aberaeron. Next, they will head up to Aberdovey, Nefyn and Cemaes Bay in Anglesey before making the journey home.Returning to this weekends Formula 4 action, qualifying for rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the season is set to begin at 08.40 on Saturday, 6th July, with the three races following at 11.40, 14.30 and 18.00. Television highlights of the event will be screened on ITV4 on Sunday, 14th July, at 18.00.Provisional 2013 BRDC Formula 4 Championship Standings (after Rd9):3rd Seb Morris, 146pts
