Andrea Roda, Looking to impress at Mugello AutoGP

Andrea Roda was the first driver to announce his entry in the 2013 Auto GP this winter. Throughout the year so far, he enjoyed ups and downs mainly due to unforeseen circumstances. Hit too often by bad strikes of luck, he looks forward to a rebound at Mugello. What's the reason behind your move to Auto GP?

"After three years spent in Formula 3, and in particular the last one in the European championship, a series that featured some great stars in the past, I needed new emotions. Having 550 horsepower behind your back well, that's exciting. The first test at Barcelona really impressed me. The feeling was already there and the decision to move up has become a natural consequence".What's the most impressive thing of the Auto GP car?"I was impressed by the acceleration. In addition to that, you have to use a different driving style than in an F.3 car which has few horsepower but a lot of aero performance. This makes Auto GP a very demanding and fun car to drive and tame".You haven't been very lucky so far especially at Monza, Marrakech and Silverstone where you lost some valuable points. Do you have any regrets?"Not only valuable points, but also podium finishes. Definitely there are some regrets especially for Marrakech where we were fighting for the win. These inconveniences though didn't prevent us from being constantly as quick as the frontrunners. We show it each time we go on-track. Now we just have some well-deserved results".What's your goal for the rest of the season? The next race will be at Mugello, another good occasion to shine with an home race after Monza. We definitely rely on our qualifying performance and we hope to repeat the showings in Monza and Silverstone, just we will aim at getting the rewards we deserve on Race Day. We always aim for the best possible results and the podium is definitely in our frame".How's your relationship with the Virtuosi UK team?"It's my first experience with an English team, but we managed to build a strong relationship from the beginning. The mentality, the goals and the determination are the same, regardless of the nationality. We always give 100% and we really have some chemistry between us".
