Lets get to the races first... The Touring Car (TC) and Touring Car B (TCB a.k.a. B-Spec) divisions of the Pirelli World Challenge Series practiced, qualified then held two exciting racesrounds four and five of 14to close the day. These are the classes that have the cars you and I drive to work in... Mazda 3s, 2s and Miatas, VW GLIs and Jettas, Minis, Kia Rios and Fortes, Honda Fits and Civics, Chevy Sonics, Porsche Boxsters, Fiat 500s, Ford Fiestas, BMW 128s, Hyundai Genesi... this is great, fender-banging racing.In race one, Brett Sandberg of New Jersey took his Honda Civic Si to the win in the TC class, while Texan Robbie Davis maximized his

Also today was yet another Lime Rock first: The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series chose our gorgeous track to debut its North American version. Heres the deal... 570 h.p. Gallardo LP 570-4 (awd) are race-prepped by Lamborghini dealer race teams, then raced by a mix of gentlemen and pro racers. The Lambos are super-quick and look so much at home on LRPs 1.5 miles.Thursday saw two Lambo practice sessions, and the quickest was Richard Antinucci with a lap of :54.881. Everyone else was in the :55s and :56s, including actor Dax Shepard, Kevin Conway, WeatherTech scion Cooper MacNeil, plus two very local drivers... Dean Di Giacomo and Lee Carpentier, who are Lime Rock racing instructors.The Lamborghini Super Trofeo series has two races this weekend, one on Friday and one on Saturday. You may want to come out and see history made, right?

The other two divisions in Pirelli World Challenge are the big and fast beasts in Grand Touring (GT) and the slightly less beastly Grand Touring Sport (GTS). Cadillac CTS-V. SRT Viper. Nissan GTR. Ford Mustang Boss 302. BMW M3. Audi R8 LMS. Porsche 911 GT3 and Cayman S. Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS. Chevy Camaro and Corvette. Volvo S60. Acura TSX, Lotus Exige, Kia Optima, Scion FR-S and Nissan 370Z.GT/GTS qualified and at the end of the session it was two Cadillac CTS-V.Rs stealing the front row, with Johnny OConnells :51.271 lap taking pole and Andy Pilgrims :51.358 putting him alongside. A Corvette, the Volvo S60, and two Audi R8 LMSs rounded out the first three rows. The first of two races is Friday.
