SingTel has been confirmed as the sponsor of this September's Singapore Grand Prix, continuing a role it has held since the inaugural event in 2008.The telecoms firm has also secured options on the title sponsorship rights until 2017. The deal was announced by race promoter Singapore GP Pte, which has a contract to stage the race until 2017. A statement said the many platforms SingTel could offer to activate the deal provided 'touch points with nearly every Singapore resident'.There is also a technical element to the arrangement with SingTel providing services at the venue, in the Marina Bay district of the city-state.SingTel has also hired Singapore company Risis to design the winner's trophy for this year's night race, which will take place on 22nd September with an 8pm local start time.
