Montermini and Filippi are facing the fifth GT Open round at the wheel of their Ferrari 458 GT2
Title fight goes on for Villorba Corse in the 2013 International GT Open. Next stop is Silverstone, where the fifth round is to be held over the weekend of July 14.
The powerful Ferrari 458 GT2 of the Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio and race drivers Andrea Montermini and Luca Filippi are leading the overall and Super GT standings but in England they will have to face an entry list with 27 GT cars, all their title contenders and, again, a very high time handicap to be paid at the mandatory pit-stop. So it will not be an easy job for the former F1 driver and 2008 GT Open champion from Modena and the young talented GP2 winner. The Villorba crew, however, ended the first half of the season with 8 podiums out of 8 races (2 wins, 3 seconds and 3 third overall, plus 4 class wins) after a stunning series of pole positions, fastest laps, overtaking and comebacks.
At the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit the weekend will kick off on Friday, July 12 with two free practice sessions. Qualifying is scheduled on Saturday at 10 and 11:55. Race-1 (70 minutes) will take place at 15:55. On Sunday race-2 (50 minutes) will start at 11:55. Both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV) and on many European TV channels.
It was 2007 last time we visited Silverstone - says Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal -. It is a prestigiousand historic track. It will be a very difficult race weekend but we had a month to prepare it and we are confidentthat we can continue on the way that we have successfully undertaken since the beginning of the season.Andrea and Luca are very much motivated and they always did very well on the English circuit. We aim toachieve a positive result to better face the last races after the summer break.
