Maserati Trofeo, Trofeo Europa to be decided at Silverstone

MASERATI TROFEO MC WORLD SERIES, SILVERSTONE, 213 - 14 JULY 2013

The 2013 Maserati Trofeo MC World Series reaches its halfway point at Silverstone. The Formula 1 circuit in Great Britain will be the stage where the season's first title is awarded: the Trofeo Europa. The crown is bestowed on the driver who has collected the most points in the first three rounds held in Europe; earlier meets were at Paul Ricard and Nuerburgring. This weekend's action at Silverstone will mark the last Maserati Trofeo round in Europe. The second half of the season will see the circus move on to Sonoma (United States, 25 August), Shanghai (China, 3 November) and Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates, 14 December) for the gran finale.

Favourite in this special classification is Belgian Renaud Kuppens, winner of the overall title in 2012 as well as the Trofeo Europa. The Konvex Motorsport Team driver currently leads the standings on 101 points from Danish newcomer Mikkel Mak, on 67. Third, on 57 points, are the leading Italian drivers, Alberto Cola and Patrick Gobbo; the pairing scooped the endurance race at the German circuit of Nuerburgring.

In Europe, MotorsTV will transmit the exciting action Race 3 in Maserati's single-make series; in Italy coverage will be provided by SportItalia 2 for Race 1 and Race 3 with Radio Monte Carlo confirming that it will continue its radio broadcasts.

The Bowers & Wilkins No.99 car, traditionally reserved to guests, will be driven by Roberto Giordanelli, of Italian-English heritage, and Spaniard Jaime Hernandez.
